The two indices diverge: current physical conditions are deteriorating faster than the forward outlook is pricing in. Brent stood at $92.99, down 1.48% over 24 hours, at the time of writing. On the policy front, Iranian state media report that parliament approved service fees for vessels transiting the strait and that the Persian Gulf Strait Authority has warned ships of fines, detention, or confiscation for protocol violations; both claims originate with Tehran state sources and have not been independently confirmed. Iranian state media also claim two Chinese-flagged vessels transited the Iranian side of the strait, and a top Iranian security official, per IRNA, warned that Tehran would halt all Persian Gulf oil exports if US pressure continues, a claim that should be treated as a statement of intent, not confirmed action.
