Live map
Tankers at the Strait of Hormuz, live.
Every ship broadcasting AIS inside the Gulf window, plotted live. 102 of 545 are under way through the chokepoint right now; the rest sit anchored or waiting. The map refreshes every 60 seconds.
Positions come from vessels self-reporting over AIS, indexed inside a Persian Gulf bounding box (22 to 28 degrees north, 54 to 60 degrees east). Under-way vessels carry the pulse ring; anchored and waiting ships sit dimmer. In a closure the standstill, ships waiting rather than crossing, is the story. This is an illustrative schematic, not a navigational chart.
Day 143 since the closure was declared. For the named vessel list, risk screen, and per-type breakdown, see the vessel manifest. Method: how positions and status are derived.
