Ras Laffan.
World's largest LNG export terminal472 km from HormuzReference only
Every Qatari LNG cargo loads at Ras Laffan and every one of those cargoes must transit the Strait of Hormuz. Qatar has no pipeline alternative for gas; if the strait closes to LNG carriers, Ras Laffan's exports stop. This is the asymmetry that makes Hormuz a structurally larger LNG event than crude event.
